About Us

Who we are

JD Home Improvements is a family run roofing company based on West Town Road in Shirehampton. Joe has worked in roofing for more than 20 years and runs the company as director, with his son Tommy working alongside him. Between them they lead a team of more than a dozen roofers.

We trade as JD Home Improvements. Our registered company name is JD Roofing (SW) Ltd, so you may see that name on paperwork.

You pay when you are happy

We do not ask for payment until the job is finished and you are completely satisfied with it. Walk round it with us and ask about anything you are unsure of. If something needs another look, we come back and sort it before any money changes hands.

It is a simple promise, and it keeps us honest. A roofer who only gets paid once the customer is happy has every reason to do the job right first time.

How a job runs

Every job starts with a visit. One of us gets up on the roof to see what is actually there, then talks you through it in plain English. You then get a free quote that sets out the work clearly.

Once you are ready, we agree a start date and keep you in the loop from scaffold up to scaffold down.

Proud of the work

Our team takes real pride in a straight ridge line and a gutter that runs where it should. Those details are what you look at for years after we have gone, so we treat them that way.

We are registered with the Confederation of Roofing Contractors and our roofers hold CSCS cards. Every job is backed by a 15 year warranty. You can see a spread of finished jobs on our Our Work page.

What we do

Most of our work falls into a few areas. We carry out roof repairs of every size and fit new roofs in tile and slate. Tired flat roofs on extensions and garages are another big part of our work. Alongside that we fit new fascias and guttering, and we swap old conservatory roofs for solid tiled ones. You can browse everything on our services page.

Where we work

Shirehampton is home, so Avonmouth and Sea Mills are right on our doorstep. From there we cover Bristol and the towns around it, out to Portishead and Clevedon in North Somerset and up to Yate and Thornbury in South Gloucestershire. Find your area on our areas we serve page.
